Content Description

Papers of the Patton Family of Cherry Grove, Oregon. Most of the papers pertain to Pembroke Patton 1871-1939, his wife, Edith Patton and his daughter Mary Patton Kurtz. The Patton's were one of the first families to claim land in what is now Patton Valley, just northwest of Gaston. The papers include financial documents related to his farm, legal documents, mortgages and material related to the founding of the Congregational Church including several items from the Walker Family. These papers were found in an estate sale and donated to Pacific University by local resident Chris Marble in 2019.
