Alanson Hinman (1822-1908) came to the Oregon Country in 1844 and taught school at the Whitman Mission. He later settled in Forest Grove. He was a trustee of Pacific University. The folder includes clippings, photocopies of biographical articles, as well correspondence, clippings and recollections from Hinmam's descendants, including Alanson Farlow "Bud" Hinman, and George and Leverne Williams.
