Content Description
Five gold pieces that were souvenirs of the California goldfields. They include a thimble, a wedding ring, a brooch (pin-backed), a hand shaped gold nugget, and a heart shaped gold nugget. They were brought back to Sarah Ann Ross Brown (1832-1903) in 1851 from her friends that had gone to California for gold. Sarah Ann Ross Brown later became the wife of Alvin Clark Brown (1829-1912), the grandson of Tabitha Brown (1780-1858). Tabitha Brown was one of the original founders of Taulatin Academy (later Pacific University).
