Two letters from Gamma Sigma, a Pacific University fraternity. The letters are requesting the presence of the Philomatheon Society and the Pacific University faculty at a Gamma Sigma meeting. The letters are dated March 29, 1873 and March 31, 1873. Gamma Sigma is an independent fraternity that was founded at Pacific University in 1863. Pacific University believes it to be the oldest Greek Letter society west of the Mississippi River.
