Atkinson in preparation for his book, Atkinson: Pioneer Oregon Educator. Sevetson traveled all over the United States, visiting archives, libraries and historical societies collecting materials related to Atkinson's life. The collection is contained in binders and folders that were labeled and indexed by Sevetson.
