Al Lepage Papers on Political Activism and Living History, Addition
Content Description
Addition to the Papers of Al Lepage, who was a political activist and living history interpreter. The political papers include extensive notes, training and promotional material related to organizations in which he was involved, including SANE-FREEZE, OSPIRG, the Green Party, the Cascadia Bioregional Conference, and various political campaigns. Newsletters and ephemera from many other Pacific Northwest activist organizations and some national activist groups are also included, mostly dating from the mid-1980s to mid-1990s. The living history materials include research notes, subject files, training, outreach and promotional materials related to his activities as a living history interpreter in the Columbia River area. These materials represent his work to portray characters from Fort Vancouver, French Prairie, the Lewis and Clark expedition, and others generally from the early 19th century. The papers show how a living history professional developed characters and reflects changes in historical interpretation practices during the 1990s-2000s. See inventory.
