Early records, 1848-1940
Scope and Contents
From the time that the trustees were formed until the 1930s records were sparse. The first box includes early minute books, loose minutes, an 1870 bond record, abstract of a real estate title, correspondence, early President's reports, a secretary's contract, and a financial statement from 1926 all in chronological order. The second box contains a record book, which originally contained minutes and records pasted onto pages, scrapbook-style. The pages of this book were removed from their original binding, probably sometime in the 1980s or 1990s, in order to make photocopies and transcriptions. The original pages, which are now loose, have been filed in their original numerical order. The photocopies and a binder of transcripts are filed alongside the originals. These are accompanied by a CD-ROM and floppy disk with electronic versions of the transcripts.
