Badger and Boxer mascots videorecordings, 1968

 File — Box: 2, Folder: 13

Scope and Contents

Soundless videorecording of events in 1968 related to Pacific University's mascots, Badger and Boxer, in DVD and .mp4 formats. The video includes 3 sections: 1. Badger, Pacific's former mascot, being given a "funeral" as Boxer was installed as the new official mascot. -- 2. The Boxer mascot bronze statue being displayed on a table. -- 3. A "Boxer Toss," showing students brawling over possession of the Boxer statue, which took place on April 18, 1968. These copies are based on an alumnus' earlier film copies that he converted to digital format in about 2016. The Boxer Toss film is also known to exist in other copies, probably derived from a television news production.
