The collection includes photographs and videorecordings related to the events and activities sponsored by the Pacific University Humanitarian Center, mostly between the late 1990s-2005. Many of the activities relate to service projects in Native American communities.

The Humanitarian Center at Pacific University organized community service and engagement projects at the university. Founded in 1998 by a unanimous vote of the faculty, it helped students to volunteer for projects such as service trips to Navajo lands. The Humanitarian Center was renamed the "Center for Civic Engagement" in 2009.
