    The Delta Chi Delta sorority was founded in 1959 when the charter was presented to the first members by Pacific University. The two items in this collection are an early scrapbook from the 1950s and 1960s belonging to the Delta Chi Delta sorority, and a file folder containing the sorority's constitution, original charter and news clippings about the sorority's formation as well.

  • Historical Note

    The Delta Chi Delta sorority of Pacific University was chartered in 1959. Soon after its initial formation, the sorority quickly became visible on the Pacific campus, hosting events such events as the Blue Lagoon dinner, rush events, May Day breakfast, homecoming festivities and charity activities. After becoming inactive in the 1980s, Delta Chi Delta re-established its charter in 2001.

  • Scope and Contents

    The two items in this collection are a scrapbook from the 1950s-1960s created by members of the Delta Chi Delta sorority, and a file folder containing its constitution, original charter and news clippings about the sorority's formation. The scrapbook includes photographs, newspaper clippings, Christmas cards, engagement announcements, invitations, correspondence and ephemera related to the sorority's activities.
