Historical Note
Pacific University students collected various pieces of memorabilia from their student years, including freshman beanies and pennants from athletic events. The freshman beanies were in use from approximately the 1910s through the 1960s. According to alumni, they were worn (chiefly by male students, though possibly also by women in later years) during the first one to two months of classes in freshman year. After the Homecoming bonfire, they were allowed to take them off. The pennants could be waved at athletic events, but many students used them as room decorations.
