Scope and Contents

The collection documents the activities of the Tualatin Plains Historical Society in Forest Grove, Oregon. It includes bank statements, cancelled checks, receipts, bills, membership lists, meeting minutes, memorabilia and audio cassette tapes that belonged to the Tualatin Plains Historical Society. The financial records usually include bank statements, deposit slips, and checks for the corresponding month of the statement. In some cases there are notes regarding deposits and correspondence relating to financial records that is attached. There are seven audio cassette tapes that record various presentations given at society meetings.

Historical Note

The Tualatin Plains Historical Society was a group that met in Forest Grove, Oregon. In the 1960s, it held meetings in Pacific University's Old College Hall, and continued its active membership on into the 1980s. Many of the members of this group were also affiliates of Pacific University. They hosted such programming as field trips to the Tillamook Burn site; and speakers brought to the Forest Grove area to discuss local history pertaining to subjects like the Oregon Trail, logging in Western Oregon and the start of the Forest Grove Methodist Church.
