An unsigned koa or milo wood carving of a woman's face, depicting her emerging from the natural form of a tree trunk or large branch. According to an appraisal report, unsigned carvings of this type and age from Hawaii were typically "done by prison inmates and sold by the guards on the outside of the prison to tourists."
