Content Description
A large carving of a woman's face and shoulders. Carved from a root burl of a milo tree, which has been turned so that the roots form her hair. It is unsigned. According to an appraisal report, unsigned carvings of this type and age from Hawaii were typically "done by prison inmates and sold by the guards on the outside of the prison to tourists." Approximately 15.25" H x 14" W x 11.5" D.
