Klamath grass sale basket

Content Description

Used for sale on the Northwest coast, possibly by Klamath in Oregon. Made of grasses and some reeds. 4 1/2" high, 7" in diameter. The basket is a natural color of the grasses. A little decoration is in a darker brown and lighter brown. Had a handle as the stubs on each side indicate. Briefly appraised by Stephanie Craig (Grand Ronde basket weaver), 11/2018: Juncus effusus (common rush) with dyed and undyed beargrass overlay and a root-wrapped rim. Style could be Klamath.
