Siletz reed and grass sale basket

Content Description

Used for sale on the northwest coast, possibly by the Siletz in Oregon. Made of reeds and grasses. 6 1/2" to 7" high, 9" in diameter. Design in dark brown. Handles gone, stubs left remaining. Crude workmanship. Briefly appraised by Stephanie Craig (Grand Ronde basket weaver), 11/2018: cedar or possibly spruce root basket; spokes may be willow; dark material is maidenhair fern.
