Content Description
Used by either the Nootka or Makah on the northwest coast. Tan basket with colorful red, brown, and blue design. 5 1/2" diameter, 4" high. Handwritten note on label reads: "W. C. Adams." Briefly appraised by Stephanie Craig (Grand Ronde basket weaver), 11/2018: Makah attribution is plausible. Materials include beargrass and dyed cedar. The design depicts a canoe and a bird, possibly a loon.
