Solar Compass made by the Burt and Bailey Company in Detroit, Michigan. Instrument used for surveying. Made of brass with a leather strap. Has a separate wooden case. 15 1/2" by 8 1/2", 10 1/4" at highest point. Used by Levi Walker in 1870 at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
