Used to ward off the sun when driving in open carriages or walking. Made of a metal frame. Ivory handle and a carved tip. White silk covered with Spanish lace over in black. A complete circle in design. Used in Ohio in about 1880. Belonged to Mrs. Nelson Brewer, the grandmother of Mrs. Story (the donor).
