Tabitha Brown lace caps

Content Description

Two lace caps that belonged to Tabitha Brown in Forest Grove, Oregon. Brown was one of the founders of Tualatin Academy which later became Pacific University. The caps were found in her trunk. Made of lace, net, and cotton thread. One is a child's cap made of net and lace and is 6" by 5 3/4". The second is a doll's cap made if fine linen and a band of lace and is 4 1/2" by 4 1/2". A cloth reading "Cheerful Companions" was also found with these items. This cloth has printings of children doing various fun activities such as, dancing, playing ball and more. The cloth has holes with yellow and brown colors. 8 1/2" x 11" inches. Small doll glove. 2" x 5" inches
