Gavel made from the wood of the frame house where Tabitha Brown lived in Forest Grove, Oregon. Tabitha Brown (1780-1858) was one of the founders of Tualatin Academy (now Pacific University) in Forest Grove, Oregon. 7" long overall, 5 1/4" handle, the end is 2" long and 1 1/4" wide. Apparently used to call the XPU Club to order. The club was for socializing, likely a Pacific University alumni club.
