Gavel made of varnished wood. 10 1/2" long. Made of wood taken from the hand-hewn log that was part of the original foundation of Old College Hall at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. The log was hewn by Alvin C. Brown, grandson of Tabitha Brown (one of the founders of Tualatin Academy, later Pacific University).
