Walking stick, 43" long, carved by Reatha L. Parcell Smith when she was a student at Pacific University. She carved it while on a hike up Gales Peak with a group of friends. The carvings tell the story of Smith's hike. Smith (1903-1976) graduated Pacific University in 1926 and was the first wife of Leroy Smith (1907-after 1978) , a Pacific University graduate in the class of 1928.
