Two squares of k'o-ssu weaving that are to be attached to the back of a mandarin coat. From China. The embroidery and weaving is of symbolic figures. 20 1/2" by 11 1/2". Apparently about 300 years old. Metallic threads are nontarnishable. In a wooden frame with glass. The back of the picture contains the meanings of the figures.
