Content Description

Ostrich plume fan used to cool a person by waving it back and forth. Made of amber material and ostrich feathers. The stiff "spokes" of the fan to which the blue ostrich feathers are attached to an amber colored material. 15" to tip of feathers, spreads to 18 1/2" when opened. Belonged to Margaret McChesney Scott, the wife of Harvey Scott, the first graduate, class of 1863, from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
