English crown chair
Content Description
Carved chair upholstered in needlework. English crown motif on lower front and on the top of the back of the chair. Burgundy-brown background on the needlepoint seat. 46" high, 19" wide, 15" diameter. According to a note by Rick Read, former curator of the Pacific Museum, the donor, Ruth Burlingham Loomis, and her sister-in-law, Doris Burlingham, attended a public program in Old College Hall on March 9, 1996 and shared history of the chair according to family history. Belonged to Mr. Ernest Frederick Burlingham (Ruth's father), who brought it from England. According to family history, there is a duplicate of this chair "in Parliament" in London, England.
