These are Japanese ukiyoe prints by the artist Hiroshige Utagawa and depict the Fifty Three Stations of the Tokaido - the old road between Tokyo and Kyoto. The collection is made up of 55 woodblock prints, under a paper matte, on quality rice paper. The prints include a map and are bound in a blue, linen box with Japanese writing on the front. This is a 20th century reproduction of the original Hiroshige prints that were done in 1833-1834.
