 Accession
Identifier: MUS-1900-577

Content Description

A diploma of Mary Stacy Eaton from Pacific University. The writing on the diploma is entirely in Latin. It reads in large letters: "senatus academicus PUniversitatis Pacifici omnibus has literas perlecturis salutem notum sit quod Mary Stacy Eaton titulo graduque mayistrar in scientus" which roughly translates to "The Academic Senate of Pacific University, grants Mary Stacy Eaton the title graduate of which is known to you, to take these letters and gait in the knowledge and the safety". The signatures and date of validation have become unreadable over time, but there are still light brown marks indicating where they once were at the bottom of the page. This diploma was presented to the University in 1957 by Bill Eaton and is in a wooden frame that is painted black.
