Content Description

A kit for testing children using the Cattell Infant Intelligence Scale, published by The Psychological Corporation, New York, NY, 1960 (reprinted 1966). The kit includes: a copy of the book "The Measurement of Intelligence of Infants and Young Children" by Psyche Cattell; an envelope of test cards; notepaper and tissue; a mirror; a sheet of glass; a board with shapes cut into it; two bottles of "red hot" candies; several small boxes; and an assortment of small toys, dolls, blocks, beads, a bell, small household objects, and other testing props. They are contained within a black cardboard suitcase with reinforced metal corners, marked "Cattell." This was part of a collection of intelligence test kits maintained by the Oregon Graduate School of Professional Psychology (OGSPP), an independent institution that admitted students between 1979-1985, when it was absorbed by Pacific University, where it became the School of Professional Psychology.

Originally acquired by the Oregon Graduate School of Professional Psychology (OGSPP), likely in the late 1970s. OGSPP became Pacific University's School of Professional Psychology in 1985. The collection to the Pacific University Libraries in 2012, and then to the Pacific University Museum collection in 2023.
