Content Description

Used by the Siletz in Oregon on the northwest coast. Made of straw and grass. 5 1/2" in diameter at mouth, 6 1/8" at base, 7 1/2" in depth. Twined, openwork twining at the middle, 2 black strips, lopsided. Briefly appraised by Stephanie Craig (Grand Ronde basket weaver), 11/2018: Kalapuya style. Juncus effusus (common rush); black material is (dyed?) beargrass.
