A collection of materials related to Oregon Governor Vic Atiyeh, compiled by Pacific University politics and government professor James Moore. Moore created and collected the material in preparation for the writing of his book, "ATIYEH: Governor Vic Atiyeh and the Transformation of Oregon" (Carlton, OR: Ridenbaugh, 2025). Some of the material was given to Moore by Atiyeh's former staff, including Gerry Thompson, his chief of staff; and David Olsen, his speech writer. The material includes: James Moore Interview Files and Writings on Atiyeh -- Recorded interviews, notes and correspondence by Moore with over 75 politicians and others regarding Atiyeh, in electronic format, 2014-2018; -- Complete manuscript of Moore's book on Atiyeh (over 1,000 pages), in electronic format, circa 2020; -- Signed copy of Moore's published book on Atiyeh, 2025; -- Copy of an index to Atiyeh's oral history, from the Oregon Historical Society, 1990s. Gerry Thompson Records on Atiyeh: Thompson's (Atiyeh's Chief of Staff) records from the Governor's Office, including: Binder of correspondence and notes on the Rajneesh crisis, circa 1982-1985; "Daily Notes" file from 1984-1985, including notes on the Rajneesh crisis; 2 binders of "Debate Preparation" documents, 1982-1983; "Rajneesh Times" newspaper issues relating to the Rajneesh crisis; miscellaneous office records and memos; and a directory of past Atiyeh staff compiled in 2000. David Olsen (Atiyeh's speechwriter) Speeches: a binder of speeches, with notes in Atiyeh's handwriting, 1982-1983.
