Kappa Kotton Klub King cuff links

 Accession
Identifier: ACC-2019-4

Content Description

A set of cuff links commemorating the king of the event held by the Kappa Kotton Klub of 1968. The Kappa Kotton Klub was a fundraising event originally organized by Pacific University sorority students from the Kappa Delta sorority, in which the students would put on a nightclub-style show. It was named after the famous African American Cotton Club of Harlem. The cuff links were apparently given to a male "king" of the event in 1968. This pair was placed in a time capsule assembled in 1993 by the Class of 1968 on the occasion of their 25th Reunion. The time capsule was stored between 1993-2018 in a basement, where water destroyed all of its contents except for the cuff links.
