Margaret Morgan Hawkins and Samuel Glenn Morgan Collection
Content Description
This collection consists of material from Margaret Morgan Hawkins and Samuel Glenn Morgan's time at Pacific University between the mid-1910s to early 1920s, plus additional material from the 1930s. It includes dozens of photographs, programs for plays, May Day, Wassail, and other events at Pacific, dance cards, a green freshman beanie, and other material.
One item of note within this collection is a photograph album with pictures of students activities in the 1910s such as theatre performances, singing groups, fields trips, sporting events, clean-up day, May Day, students in the chemistry program at Old College Hall, and other topics.

Biographical / Historical
Samuel Glenn Morgan and Margaret Morgan Hawkins were siblings who attended Pacific University in the late 1910s and early 1920s. Margaret Morgan Hawkins (also known as "Peg") graduated in 1921. Later, she became the Dean of Women from 1934-1939. As Dean of Women, Margaret oversaw residential life and social regulations for women on campus and served as a general resource for female students. Samuel Glenn Morgan (also known as Glenn or "Hap") graduated in 1917. He was an active student, serving as class president in his junior year, and was a member of Pacific's glee club, the baseball team and Alpha Zeta fraternity.
This collection was donated to the Archives in 2024 by Glenn Morgan's granddaughter, Becky Matta Ball of the Pacific University Class of 1975.
