Abstract

The Forest Grove News-Times was the principal newspaper in the town of Forest Grove, Oregon, for most of the twentieth century. This collection includes approximately 1,000 photographic prints created by its photographers between the 1960s-1980s, mostly featuring individuals from the community, as well as some local events.

A collection of administrative records pertaining to art at Pacific University, compiled by Art Professor Jan Shield between the 1970s-2000s. The collection includes media, correspondence, photographs and other material relating to Pacific University's Cawein Gallery (1980s-2000s); Permanent Art Collection (1970s-2000s); and Sculpture Marathon event (1970s); and the Forest Grove Chalk Art Festival (1992-1993).

Content Description This collection consists of material from Margaret Morgan Hawkins and Samuel Glenn Morgan's time at Pacific University between the mid-1910s to early 1920s, plus additional material from the 1930s. It includes dozens of photographs, programs for plays, May Day, Wassail, and other events at Pacific, dance cards, a green freshman beanie, and other material. Abstract

A collection of approximately 600 photographs that were created and/or collected by Pacific University's Office of Student Life between 1985-2005. Most of the photographs are casual snapshots of students and events led by their staff.

Content Description A collection of 59 glass plate negatives created by William Alonso Clapshaw (1880-1974) of Forest Grove, Oregon. Most of the negatives show images of outdoor locations near Forest Grove between 1900-1910, such as farmhouses, barns, roads, construction projects, and outdoor group portraits.
