Jackson Family Postcards of Pacific University

Abstract
Pacific University created postcards depicting buildings on campus to gain the attention of prospective students in the early 1900s. This collection contains three of these postcards that belonged to the Jackson family of Gaston, Oregon. Two of the postcards contain handwritten messages that were sent to Mrs. Susie Hatfield Jackson of Silver Bell, Arizona.

G. Orlo & Matilda Jefferson Collection

Summary
Dr. G. Orlo Jefferson (1860-1949) was an optometrist in Portland Oregon, and also a trustee of Pacific University. He and his wife, Matilda J. Calhouns Jefferson (1859-1933) traveled extensively in the Western United States, the Middle East and Europe. The bulk of the collection is made up of photographs, diaries, and travel documents relating to the Jeffersons' journeys, which are particularly interesting for their documentation of early automobile travel.

The Leabo Family of Oregon and California are descendants of Jacob Leabo (1795-1880), who made his first trip to Oregon in 1847. The Leabos settled in Forest Grove, Oregon in the 1860s, where several family members attended Pacific University.
