Fred Scheller Radio and Television Manuals
This collection is chiefly comprised of instructional manuals for radio and television production written by Fred Scheller, was a Professor of Communications and the Director of Media Services at Pacific University in the 1970s.
Alfred D. Schoch Class Notebooks
Alfred D. Schoch was a Pacific University student from 1896 to 1900. This collection contains six volumes of notes for biology and foreign language classes, apparently taken while attending Pacific University.
Scoggins Valley Dam Symposium Records
In 1973, Pacific University hosted a symposium on the impending creation of the Scoggins Valley Dam. This project would flood a nearby rural valley in order to create a reservoir for Washington County, Oregon. The collection includes planning documents, programs, speeches, evaluations from audience members, copies of the environmental impact reports, color slides, audio recordings and other material, forming a record of opinion on the creation of the dam from various interest groups.
Collection on Harvey Whitefield Scott
The collection consists primarily of biographical materials, including images, of Harvey Whitefield Scott and various members of his family. Scott was an 1863 graduate of Pacific University and long-time editor of the Oregonian newspaper (Portland).
James Knox Sears Papers
James Knox Sears worked as a farmer in Polk County, Oregon from the 1860s-1929. His diaries contains short entries for each day of 1909, 1912, and 1913, with notes about his work and visits to friends and family. Personal correspondence, mortgages, contracts and other financial documents realated to Sears are also included in this collection.
Laduska Walker Sears Diary
Laduska Jane Walker Sears lived from 1857-1903 in Polk County, Oregon. Her diary and recipe book contains a short entry for nearly every day from January-August 1876, when she was about 19 years old, as well as recipes.
John Seus Papers
John Seus was a Pacific University graduate and a United States attorney for the court of appeals. The collection includes his letters home to his parents during World War II, manuscript drafts of legal writings, property titles and records, family photographs, and miscellaneous personal documents.
Esther Silverman Scrapbook
Collection consists of one scrapbook created by Esther Silverman during her senior year (1908) at Pacific University.
LeRoy and Reatha Smith Papers
LeRoy and Reatha Smith were Pacific University graduates who were active in the field of education in Oregon and California. The collection includes correspondence, diaries, notes, educational records, photographs and other material.
Sidney Smith Oregon Trail Diary
Sidney Smith was among the first Americans to successfully make the overland journey to Oregon on what would become the Oregon Trail. He wrote this diary while travelling with the Peoria Party from Illinois to the Dalles in 1839.
