Student Life

The Humanitarian Center at Pacific University organized community service and engagement projects at the university. The collection includes photographs and videorecordings related to the events and activities sponsored by center, mostly between the late 1990s-2005.

Mary Abigail Reasoner Cole was a Tualatin Academy student in the late 1850s. Her memory book contains poems and notes written by other students at the Academy, probably on the occasion of her leaving school to get married.

McCormick Hall, a dormitory that was formerly for men only on the Pacific University campus, had a house government that dealt with social events, repairs, and other matters. This collection includes their house rules, meeting minutes and other records from the 1930s.

Edith Hansen McGill was a 1930 graduate of Pacific University who participated in many activities on campus, including the student newspaper, the yearbook and sports. The album contains approximately 300 photographs featuring social activities, sports, trips to the beach and camping.

Edgar Meresse was a Pacific University student from 1989-1902. This collection consists of one student workbook from a biology class, with hand-written notes and sketches, belonging to Edgar Meresse.

This collection consists of student registration records from Pacific University and its associated high school, Tualatin Academy. The records are in two log books dating from 1877-1883 and 1891-1912.

The Boxerettes were a women's honorary service group made up of Pacific University students. This collection includes both records and objects from the group such as their constitution, meeting minutes, treasury logs, photographs and original letterman sweater.

These materials originally belonged to the Center for Gender Equity. The collection contains a few originally designed shirts for specific events hosted by the center, posters advertising various events, buttons, and a Slam Poetry program.
