Student Life

This collection includes publications promoting summer session and night classes at Pacific University. The bulk of the material is related to summer sessions from 1923, 1945-1995; one folder is related to night classes in the "Evening Division," 1982-1983.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia was a national social fraternity founded in 1898 with the primary goal to advance the cause of music in America. The collection includes three scrapbooks documenting the fraternity's activities on campus, a membership directory, plaques and award certificates, a Phi Mu Alpha handbook, and various issues of The Sinfonian.

The Philomathean Society of Pacific University is a women's Greek Letter organization that was founded in 1871. The collection consists of the minutes of their meetings, 1871-1879, written by hand in a single volume.

Helen Rickey attended Pacific University from 1949 to 1951. This collection contains ephemera from Rickey's attendance at Pacific University, including a photograph, correspondence, membership card in Alpha Lambda, certificate of an Activity Award, and related materials.

Alfred D. Schoch was a Pacific University student from 1896 to 1900. This collection contains six volumes of notes for biology and foreign language classes, apparently taken while attending Pacific University.

Dr. Jay Stovall graduated from the Pacific University School of Optometry in 1953. This collection includes his black letterman sweater, three honor society pins from the 1950s, and a bell painted with the Pacific University colors of black and red.

Student Christian Fellowship of Pacific University was a religious organization, established in 1943. The secretarial book contains organizational minutes from 1943-1948, as well as other plans and notes regarding their activities.

Theta Nu Alpha is a Pacific University sorority which was founded in 1921. This collection includes newsletters, photographs, alumni records, a banquet invitation, and other material. Although the material all dates from the late 1940s through the early 1960s, information about earlier members is included in the Alumni Records section.
